Welcome at The Golden Star, a stylish four star hotel located right in the historical centre of the town, in close vicinity of Prague Castle, overlooking the Royal Route.
A historical house in the picturesque area of the Lesser Town, only few steps from the main entrance to Prague Castle.
The first written notes of the house date back to 1372, when it was owned by the Mayor of Hradčany. During the following century, the house changed its owners several times. Among them we can find servants of the Czech kings, members of different religious orders and many important Prague burghers. In 1723-1732, the house underwent a thorough and costly reconstructin that shaped its present aspect.
After a complete reconstruction, in May 2000, the Golden Star, as a hotel, reopened its ancient gate. While carefully preserving the original architectural elemens, it offers full luxury of modern life comfort. The original 270 year old staircase, ornamental plaster ceilings and period wooden furniture accentuate the historical atmosphere of the house.
